Dutch Successor to Michiel Mouris Absent: Son of Spanish Ex-Pro Wins Junior Time Trial World Title
Benjamín Noval, a 17-year-old Spaniard and son of former pro Benjamín Noval, won the junior men's time trial world title in Montreal, succeeding last year’s Dutch champion Michiel Mouris. Dutch riders Gijs Winters and Thijs Wiersma finished eleventh and fifteenth respectively after losing ground in the final stages. In other events, Filippo Ganna led Italy to victory in the mixed team time trial, while Ryan Gal and Nienke Vinke claimed gold and silver in the under-23 category.
