Short fire with heavy smoke at Tata Steel, now under control
A large fire broke out on Monday afternoon at the Tata Steel site in IJmuiden near one of the company's blast furnaces. The blaze started at a conveyor belt, prompting the evacuation of the facility and a response from the corporate fire brigade. While thick black smoke was visible from a distance, Tata Steel confirmed that the fire is now under control. There were no reported injuries or missing persons.
