Number of workers levels off, men work less
For the second consecutive year, the number of employed individuals in the Netherlands has not grown, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics. In the second quarter of 2026, there were 9.6 million workers aged 15 to 67, similar to the previous year. Meanwhile, the average workweek shortened for men aged 25 to 67, while unemployment rose to 4 percent of the labor force.
