EKKO's Neighbor House to Become Bicycle Parking After Noise Complaints
The municipality of Utrecht has purchased the house adjacent to the EKKO cultural venue on Bemuurde Weerd Westzijde 2 due to residents' noise complaints. The building will be converted into a bicycle parking facility for approximately fifty bikes on the ground floor, with office space for EKKO on the upper level. This plan aims to reduce noise disturbance for neighbors by also correcting an improper extension. A permit to change the building's use will be applied for this autumn, and residents have been notified that they can object to the plans.
