'Groningen surprises by rehiring 13-time Oranje international Hateboer'
FC Groningen is re-signing right-back Hans Hateboer, who joins the club on a free transfer from Stade Rennais. The 32-year-old former youth academy product will undergo medical examinations on Tuesday and has signed a one-year contract. Hateboer previously made his first-team debut in 2013, winning the KNVB Cup in 2015. He later transferred to Atalanta in 2017, earning 13 caps for the Netherlands before injury issues limited his playing time. After joining Rennes in summer 2024, he was loaned to Olympique Lyon before returning to his original club.
