Van der Toorn reaches European Boxing Championship quarter-finals, Al Chabtun and Weerheim eliminated
Maud van der Toorn advanced to the quarter-finals of the European Boxing Championships in Sofia by defeating Spain's Laura Galano López 5-0 in the 60 kg category. Meanwhile, Mahmoud Al Chabtun and Gaby Weerheim were eliminated in their respective first-round matches against Ewart Marín and Lioedmila Vorontsova. Van der Toorn will face Kosovo’s Donjeta Sadiku in the next round, while Luna Beeloo also reached the quarter-finals in the 70 kg division.
