Lower Prison Sentence Sought in Appeal for Suspect in Assault of Actor Bas Muijs
The Public Prosecution Service has reduced its sentencing request in the appeal against Harry W., who is accused of assaulting actor Bas Muijs. The prosecutor now seeks 28 months in prison, with 10 months suspended, down from the previous demand of four years. W. lured Muijs to a home on March 12, 2023, where he beat him, held him in a chokehold, and threatened him with a nail gun while extorting money based on false claims of past rape by Muijs. The court in Arnhem will rule on October 14.
