Former Oslo Mayor Believes Late King Harald Deserves a Street Name
Fabian Stang, the former mayor of Oslo from 2007 to 2015, has called for a street in the capital to be named after the late Norwegian King Harald. Writing on Facebook, Stang noted that previous monarchs such as King Haakon VII and King Olav V already have streets named after them, suggesting Harald should receive similar recognition near his father and grandfather's locations. However, he acknowledged a logistical challenge, citing the scarcity of available streets in the city center. King Harald passed away at age 89 in late August, followed shortly by the death of his sister, Princess Astrid, at age 94.
