New Chapel in Stiphout Features a Saint in Jeans: 'A New Miracle'
A new chapel has been opened in the historic tower of Stiphout, a district of Helmond, marking the site of the medieval Mirakel van Stiphout. The tower survived a 1342 fire that destroyed the original church, an event where a farmer reportedly saved two hosties from the flames. The newly renovated space, converted from previous use as wood storage by a scouting group, was inaugurated on Sunday with ceremonies led by Burgemeester Sjoerd Potters and Bishop Gerard de Korte of Den Bosch.
