Prosecutors Demand Three-Year Prison Sentence for Laughing Gas Dealer Ghayid A.
The Public Prosecution Service in the Netherlands is demanding a three-year prison sentence and over 900,000 euros in restitution from 26-year-old Ghayid A. of Veldhoven for illegally trading laughing gas despite the ban implemented on January 1, 2023. The investigation was initiated after a concerned mother reported her daughter's addiction, leading to raids that uncovered hundreds of cylinders and five arrests. Although A. claimed he ceased operations in the Netherlands and moved to Germany, prosecutors presented evidence that he continued receiving customer messages and profits through his accounts. During the trial at the court in Den Bosch, A. became emotional while his lawyer questioned the forensic testing of the seized substances. The court is scheduled to deliver its verdict on October 6.
