Victim of Scammers Loses €70,000 in Jewelry and Watches
An 85-year-old man in Rijswijk lost €70,000 worth of jewelry and Rolex watches after being deceived by fraudsters posing as police. On April 17, the victim was told a dangerous suspect had his address data, prompting a fake officer to collect valuables from his apartment on Generaal Spoorlaan. The suspect was filmed leaving with the items and attempting to withdraw cash at an ATM on Henri Dunantlaan, but failed due to incorrect PIN codes. Fraudsters later extracted the real PIN by claiming a virus blocked the card. The case is part of Team West’s investigation on September 28.
