Security services warn of quiet rise in far-right ideas
The General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD) and the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security (NCTV) warn that right-wing extremists are normalizing their ideology by presenting a softer version to gain broader acceptance. This strategy lowers the threshold for violence among adherents who believe in white superiority and racial inequality. Marc Kuipers, head of the NCTV, emphasizes the need to recognize and limit this normalization, particularly regarding concepts like remigration, which implies the forced departure of groups deemed unwelcome. Although most Dutch citizens reject these ideas, openness is increasing.
