Purchasing Power Figures Leaked: Low Incomes Slightly Up, High Incomes Slightly Down
The purchasing power of Dutch citizens will slightly decrease next year, with an average reduction of 0.1% for all households, according to Prinsjesdag documents seen by NOS. Low incomes will see a 0.2% increase, and pensioners a 0.3% rise, while middle incomes drop by 0.1% and higher incomes by 0.2%. The government has not yet resolved the Box 3 issue, which must be addressed within six months. Official plans for 2027 will be presented to parliament on 2026-09-15, with debates to follow.
