Martijn van Eijzeren, known as Stuntkabouter, tested positive for cocaine following a fatal car accident in France that resulted in the death of director Ilya Vierhout. According to the French newspaper Le Dauphiné Libéré, Van Eijzeren is formally suspected of causing a fatal accident under the influence of narcotics. The crash occurred on May 19 on the A7 highway near Savasse when his vehicle collided with a truck. Vierhout died four days later from his injuries. Van Eijzeren was initially held in pre-trial detention but was released after less than a month and now stands under judicial supervision. Victim advocate Sébas Diekstra stated they are aware of the reports but will await official announcements before commenting further.
