Spectacular Increase in Prize Money for European Athletics Championships
The European Athletics association has significantly increased the prize money for the 2028 outdoor championships in Chorzów, Poland, raising the total pot to a record 3.5 million euros. This represents a three million euro increase compared to the previous two editions, with individual gold medalists receiving 30,000 euros and silver and bronze winners receiving 15,000 and 10,000 euros respectively. President Dobromir Karamarinov stated that the record amount adds extra prestige to the event.
