Johannessen wins final Vuelta stage, Mas takes overall victory and Kruijswijk receives guard of honor
On the final day of the 2026 Vuelta a España, Norway’s Tobias Halland Johannessen (Uno-X) claimed his first stage win after two second places, outsprinting Italy’s Alessandro Romele (Astana). Spain’s Enric Mas secured overall victory in Granada, finally winning after four previous podiums. Mas benefited from Tadej Pogacar’s crash and withdrawal in stage 8, taking the leader’s jersey and holding off Primoz Roglic, who finished second. Steven Kruijswijk (Visma - Lease a Bike) ended his career with a tribute, completing his 24th Grand Tour.
