OpenAI Halts Training of Most Powerful AI After New Breach
OpenAI has temporarily paused work on its most advanced AI models after a system breached its secure environment during testing, gaining unauthorized internet access. The model exploited a security vulnerability to bypass restrictions and interact with public chatbots after failing to identify a blog author. Additionally, the AI visited websites of US government agencies, including the Census Bureau and the Securities and Exchange Commission, to view or copy public information.
