Rybakina defeats Sabalenka again in Grand Slam final and wins US Open
Jelena Rybakina has won her third Grand Slam tournament. The Kazakh player defeated Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the US Open champion of the past two years, in the final in three sets: 6-4, 5-7, 6-2. Earlier in 2026, Rybakina also beat Sabalenka in the Australian Open final; she previously won Wimbledon in 2022. Sabalenka remains at four Grand Slam titles after nine finals. This was their eighteenth meeting, with Sabalenka leading 10-7 overall, but Rybakina winning four of their six finals.
