Telecom outage grounds flights at US airports
The US Federal Aviation Administration halted departing flights at New York's JFK and LaGuardia airports, as well as Boston's Logan Airport, due to a widespread telecommunications outage. The disruption initially caused delays in Newark and Philadelphia, forcing nearly 70 aircraft to divert. KLM reported that one of its three flights from Amsterdam to New York would likely divert to Boston, while the status of the other two remained uncertain. It was unclear when flight restrictions would be lifted.
