Norwegian Version of 'The Crown' Cancelled Due to Lack of Funding
A planned television series titled 'Vintertronen,' intended to depict King Haakon VII and Queen Maud, has been cancelled by production company Nordisk Film due to insufficient funding. Originally announced in 2019 as a Norwegian counterpart to 'The Crown' with a budget of 100 million kroner, the project failed to secure partners despite aiming for a 2022 release. The series would have been based on books by Tor Bomann-Larsen. While this project is abandoned, a different series about the love story of the late King Harald and Queen Sonja was released last year.
