Meerdink scores first goals for Netherlands in second international match
Mexx Meerdink scored his first two goals for the Netherlands national team during their Nations League match against Serbia in Belgrade. The 23-year-old AZ striker converted a penalty in the 30th minute and added another goal in the 69th minute, securing a 2-1 victory. This performance followed his debut for the national team just one day prior in a 1-1 draw against Germany, where he replaced the injured Brian Brobbey. Meerdink’s father, Martijn, previously earned one cap for the Netherlands in 2006.
