Ukraine’s Top Prosecutor Resigns Over Corruption Case
Ukraine’s top prosecutor, Ruslan Kravchenko, has resigned amid a corruption scandal. Kravchenko’s staff allegedly accepted bribes worth tens of thousands of euros from fraudulent call centers, whose operators paid prosecutors to overlook their activities. Last week, offices of Kravchenko and key staff were searched. Kravchenko denies involvement and has not been officially charged, but a senior aide was arrested for allegedly laundering millions of euros. Hours before resigning on 2026-09-07, Kravchenko told journalists he would not step down, but later submitted his resignation to President Zelensky and parliament.
