University Was Lax in Security for Charlie Kirk Event
An independent report concludes that Utah Valley University failed to adequately secure the event where political activist Charlie Kirk was shot dead last year. The university relied too heavily on Kirk’s own security team, ignored concerns about nearby high-rise buildings, and lacked basic measures such as drone surveillance or on-site medical facilities. Although the report issued 150 recommendations for improvement, Kirk’s team did not cooperate with the investigation. Kirk’s survivors are currently pursuing a lawsuit against the university regarding these security failures.
