Cat and bird died in fire
A cat and a bird died in a fire at a maisonette apartment in Schiedam, Netherlands, reported by the fire department around 10:00 this morning. The fire was quickly extinguished, but one cat and a bird were found deceased inside the property on Idenburgstraat. Another cat survived and required veterinary attention from an animal ambulance. Residents of the upper-floor apartments evacuated themselves and were checked by ambulance personnel. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
