'Holy Grail' of Pokémon Cards Fetches $5 Million at Auction
A rare Pikachu Illustrator Pokémon card sold for $5 million at Heritage Auctions in Texas, described by collectors as the "holy grail" of Pokémon cards. Only 39 such cards were issued in 1998 to winners of drawing contests organized by CoroCoro Comic. The specific card auctioned received a PSA grade of 9 out of 10 due to its pristine condition. Although this sale is substantial, it falls short of the $16.5 million achieved earlier this year by YouTuber Logan Paul, who owns the only known example graded a perfect 10 by PSA.
