New Residential Complex Built Between 100-Year-Old Buildings
In Rotterdam’s Hillesluis district, fifteen modern gallery apartments are being sold as part of the ‘Hillehuis’ project, replacing demolished 1920s and 1930s buildings on Beijerlandselaan. The municipality initiated the demolition in 2023 after a partial facade collapse, aiming to address a shortage of mid-segment housing. The new units range from 63 to 74 square meters, with prices between €395,000 and €420,000, aligning with the national affordability limit. Designed with gas-free systems and energy labels A++ or A+++, the complex features green roofs, balconies, and an inner garden. Construction begins in late 2026, with completion expected by early 2028.
