Brigitte Bardot’s Belongings Fetch Nearly 20 Times Estimated Value at Auction
Personal items belonging to the late French actress and activist Brigitte Bardot sold for just under 954,000 euros at a Paris auction, nearly twenty times the initial estimate of 50,000 euros. Held at Hôtel Drouot following a five-day exhibition that attracted approximately 15,000 visitors, the sale included 280 items such as dog collars, furniture, and a self-portrait. A Russian buyer paid 9,400 euros for a set of two dog collars bearing Bardot's name and phone number, while her self-portrait fetched nearly 40,000 euros. Proceeds from the auction will be distributed to the Brigitte Bardot Foundation, a French animal welfare organization, and to her son, Nicolas-Jacques Charrier. Frank Guillou, Bardot’s former assistant, stated that the objects reflect significant phases in her life. The French film icon died at age 91 at the end of last year.
