This action followed Friday’s arrest of two suspects, identified as owners of eight restaurants across three international Indian catering chains, for alleged crimes including forced labor and people trafficking. Inspectors discovered severe violations, with workers reportedly subjected to 60–80 hour workweeks while being paid only for 38 hours. Authorities suspect the suspects earned approximately €4 million through this scheme by misusing a former regulation for Asian hospitality staff.
