Hospital IT Issues with Citrix Prevent Patients from Accessing Records
Several Dutch hospitals, including Amphia in Breda and Elisabeth-TweeSteden in Tilburg, experienced computer problems over the weekend due to critical vulnerabilities in the Citrix Netscaler program, preventing patients from accessing their online medical records. The National Cyber Security Centre confirmed the vulnerabilities have been patched, while Z-Cert had warned healthcare providers of the risks. Although doctors could still view files internally, remote patient access was disrupted. The issue also affected the Dutch government, forcing civil servants working remotely to disconnect from the internet as a precaution. This follows similar security incidents involving Citrix last year that impacted the Public Prosecution Service.
