Man from Breukelen Arrested for Theft of Life-Saving Equipment
Police arrested a 39-year-old man from Breukelen and a man from Gouda for breaking into a fire station in Moordrecht at the end of July to steal a hydraulic spreader, essential rescue equipment. Authorities are investigating if the pair is responsible for other thefts, as national break-ins at fire stations have risen sharply to 85 this year compared to previous years. The stolen tool, often used by criminals to open ATMs or burglarize jewelry stores, is expected to be returned soon.
