Major Concerns Over Burglary Trend: 85 Incidents This Year Already
Police have raised alarms regarding a surge in burglaries at fire stations, with 85 incidents recorded nationally this year compared to 17 in 2024 and 18 in 2025. In the province of Utrecht alone, nine fire posts were targeted, including a recent break-in in Maarn-Maarsbergen where thieves stole hydraulic rescue tools via a window.
