People with Disabilities Attend Speed Dating Event in Den Bosch: 'Everyone is the Same Here'
On Saturday, a speed dating event called Love at First Bite took place in Den Bosch for young people aged 18 to 36 with disabilities. Organizer Simon Kumeling, who has autism and a mild intellectual disability, created the low-threshold event to help participants meet others without fear of judgment. Luke Jansen, 30, found an immediate connection during his first date, while Loek, 18, from Tilburg, attended to combat loneliness and make friends. Tim emphasized that the inclusive environment allows attendees to feel secure because everyone shares similar challenges. Although women were outnumbered, the organization noted that forming new friendships was just as important as finding romantic partners.
