Nearly Four in Five Over-65s Landing in Emergency Care After Falls Suffer Serious Injuries
In 2025, approximately 124,000 Dutch residents aged 65 and older visited emergency departments following a fall, marking an increase from 119,000 visits in 2024. VeiligheidNL reported that 78 percent of these incidents resulted in serious injuries, with the highest rise occurring among those aged 65 to 74.
