Skier Hirscher Back on Snow in Zoetermeer After Eight Months
Former Austrian skiing champion Marcel Hirscher has returned to skiing for the first time in eight months, training on artificial snow at SnowWorld Zoetermeer. The Dutch Ski Association reported that Hirscher focused on regaining his feel for skiing and rehabilitating his knee, which had been injured earlier in the year. Although he previously considered competing for the Netherlands at the Milan Winter Olympics, he withdrew due to fitness concerns related to his cruciate ligament injury. Hirscher stated that while his feeling on the skis is good, more steps are needed before competition readiness. He will continue his recovery process in Argentina.
