The province of Zeeland has warned that oil has washed up on multiple beaches, including locations along the Walcheren coast, Noord-Beveland, and Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. Authorities suspect the substance is heavy fuel oil and advise visitors to avoid contact with the residue and refrain from swimming in affected areas.
