Former Camp Guard (105) Investigated for Complicity in Mass Murder
German prosecutors are investigating a 105-year-old man for his alleged role as a guard at the Stalag VI-K prisoner-of-war camp in Senne, Germany. Between 1941 and April 1945, approximately 300,000 prisoners passed through the facility, where they suffered from hunger, disease, abuse, forced labor, and poor sanitary conditions, resulting in an estimated death toll of between 15,000 and 70,000 individuals. Authorities suspect the man participated in multiple murders through his activities at the camp. He is among the oldest suspects ever examined by German justice, following similar cases such as the conviction of 101-year-old Josef Schütz in 2022.
