Protesters Leave Road in Northern Ireland After Blockade to Halt Controversial Orange March

Thousands of Catholic residents in Portadown, Northern Ireland, blocked Garvaghy Road on Sunday to prevent a Protestant Orange Order march from passing through their nationalist neighborhood. Most demonstrators departed overnight after assurances the march would not proceed, leaving a small group to maintain the blockade.
