Financial Advisor Sentenced to Two Years for Embezzling Nearly €3.9 Million
A financial advisor in Lemelerveld, Dalfsen, was sentenced by the Zwolle court to two years in prison, with one year suspended, for embezzling nearly €3.9 million from a company between January 2023 and April 2025. The man, who suffered from severe alcohol addiction at the time, used the funds to pay his own business creditors and has begun repaying the amount through the sale of his home. Although the Public Prosecution Service requested a five-year ban on working in financial services, the court did not impose this restriction, citing the defendant's lack of prior convictions and his efforts to seek treatment.
