American Aid Organization Receives $50 Million Donation
Americares announced it can supply more medicines globally after receiving the largest donation in its 47-year history. An unnamed family from Connecticut donated $50 million, to be distributed over five years. The donation comes amid international aid budget cuts, notably by the U.S. government under President Trump, who dismantled USAID, impacting HIV/AIDS programs. Americares, now fully reliant on private donations, provided $1.8 billion in aid last year to 4,000 health centers worldwide. The new funds will support medicine access globally and expand U.S. clinics for uninsured patients.
