Dancing Meyer Targets UFC Debut After Lightning-Fast MMA Victory
Former judoka Roy Meyer made a successful mixed martial arts debut in Den Bosch on Saturday, defeating Brazilian opponent Tiago Alfonso in under 30 seconds. The 35-year-old, who previously won bronze at European and World Championships and placed seventh at the Rio Olympics, competed for the Levels Fighting League. Meyer expressed confidence that his transition to MMA is just the beginning and stated his goal to join the UFC within two years by impressing organization president Dana White. Also debuting in Den Bosch was former kickboxer Levi Rigters, who defeated Luis Carlos de Brito in 45 seconds. Rigters noted that while grappling required starting from zero, he found new energy in the sport.
