Michiel van Erp Developed Driving Anxiety After Making Documentary
Director Michiel van Erp, 62, developed a fear of driving after filming a documentary about individuals with anxiety disorders. Speaking to NRC, Van Erp explained that immersing himself in a subject’s intense fears of causing accidents led him to question those thoughts, which subsequently triggered his own anxiety. He struggled with the fear of falling asleep at the wheel, resorting to frequent stops, but notes he has regained enough confidence to drive to rehearsals in Weesp.
