Concertgebouw Celebrates 100th Anniversary of John Coltrane with Concert Series
The Concertgebouw is hosting four concerts this season to honor the 100th birthday of American saxophonist John Coltrane, born on September 23, 1926. The series features performances by the Belgian orchestra Flat Earth Society on October 30, Branford Marsalis and Dianne Reeves on November 4, Ravi Coltrane on March 9, and Joshua Redman with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw on March 30, 2027. Coltrane previously performed at the venue in 1960, 1961, 1962, and 1963, receiving an Edison award for his album Giant Steps during his 1961 visit.
