James Copenhaver, Injured in 2024 Trump Assassination Attempt, Dies at 76
James Copenhaver, one of three men injured during the failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, has died at age 76. Copenhaver suffered permanent injuries including kidney damage and leg numbness from being shot in the arm and abdomen by gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks. Although it remains unclear if his death was directly linked to those wounds, he had previously sued the federal government alleging security failures by the Secret Service. Trump described Copenhaver as a "true American patriot" on Truth Social, while former firefighter Corey Comperatore, also injured in the attack, died at the scene.
