Nienke Vinke secured the first medal for the Netherlands at the UCI Road World Championships in Montreal by winning silver in the under-23 time trial. The 22-year-old rider, who competes for Team SD Worx-Protime, finished on a largely flat 20.3-kilometer course. Australian favorite Felicity Wilson-Haffenden claimed the world title, finishing 28 seconds ahead of Vinke, while Belgian Luca Vierstraete took bronze.
