Review: In ‘Soekarno’, Two Versions of the Man Turn Him into a Human Being
The play Soekarno by Bo Tarenskeen and Het Nationale Theater portrays Indonesian leader Sukarno as a human being through two actors playing different stages of his life. Tarenskeen plays the older Sukarno, while Esther Scheldwacht portrays a younger version, highlighting his pride, theatrical interests, and complex relationship with the Netherlands. The production runs on tour until November 7.
