Van Dijk Surpasses Robben on List for Most International Caps
Virgil van Dijk surpassed Arjen Robben and Georginio Wijnaldum to take sole possession of the third spot on the Netherlands national team's all-time appearances list. The 35-year-old captain made his 97th appearance in a Nations League home match against Germany, moving ahead of Robben and Wijnaldum who both have 96 caps. Van Dijk debuted on October 10, 2015, and decided to continue his international career after discussions with Xavi Hernández following doubts post-World Cup.
