Confused man pulled from Amsterdam water by fire brigade two days in a row
The Amsterdam fire brigade rescued a confused man from the Sloterplas for the second consecutive day, according to city broadcaster AT5. On 2026-09-13, around 18:00, a diving team pulled him from the water after he treaded water for several minutes; he was hypothermic and taken to hospital. The previous day, he was also rescued around 17:00. Both incidents required significant emergency response, including teams from Zaandam and Aalsmeer. Police stated a mental health crisis team will contact the man to provide help and prevent recurrence.
