Srebrenica war criminal Ratko Mladić dies in The Hague
Ratko Mladić, the Bosnian Serb general convicted of genocide for his role in the 1995 Srebrenica massacre, has died at the age of 84 in The Hague. Mladić was serving a life sentence after being found guilty by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. The Srebrenica massacre, which occurred in July 1995, resulted in the deaths of more than 8,000 Bosniak men and boys. Mladić’s death marks the end of a significant chapter in post-war justice.
